This productbis meant tp be used after the brunette shampoo and conditioner. But im not sure it did me any good. It stained my hands and left my hair feeling so nasty i had to do a treatment mask after just to make it feel better. Still after i dried my hair it was rough and my hands were brown:/

Comments about ULTA Brunette Color Enhance Glaze:

John Freida used to make this product, and recently decided to stop production of the brunette GLAZE. I was in tears after learning that. I'm in my 50's and have areas on my head that have gray, especially starting as close as 3 weeks after coloring. In the past, I would have to color my roots every 3 weeks or feel horrible about myself. When I learned that ULTA was making the brunette GALZE, I thought I should at least give it a try. This is what I do... After washing my hair with John Freida brunette multitone shampoo, I put a quarter size amount of Ulta Brunette GLAZE in my hand, and place it on the top of my head where the area of gray has come in. I then use the Freida conditioner on the rest of my hair. I take baths every night, which makes it easy to let it set. I usually keep it in for 10 minute and then rinse. Whaalah! The gray spot is not there. The glaze termporarily changes your gray to brown. I wash my hair every other night. So, I have 2 days of no gray. I do this procedure for up to 8 weeks, and then I use permanent hair color again. This GLAZE changes my every 3 weeks to every 8. In the long run, it's healthier for my hair, AND I don't need to buy as much hair dye. Win, win situation. The container of Glaze lasts a long time. I can't give you an exact amount, but it's at least 3 months.

Comments about ULTA Brunette Color Enhance Glaze:

I had just started to love John Frieda's brunette glaze, when they stopped making it. I was crushed! The Frieda product was enabling me to stretch my haircolorings from 3 1/2 weeks to 6 weeks. I wash my hair every other day, and when the gray roots start to appear, I would pull out the glaze and like magic, they would cover the gray. Then I learned that Ulta was making the brunette glaze, and out of desperation, I thought I might as well try it, I,m doomed if I can't prolong my hair colorig. So, I bought every bottle of the Ulta glaze and prayed. I am happy to say that it seems to work just as well. The only negative comments are the mess it leaves in the tub. While it's helping to color your hair, it also colors the tub walls. It's not a big deal.. I was my tub once a week, and so far there's been no stain.

How long does this product take to wash out? And could it cause any long-term staining of my hair (I'm dirty blonde)
Asked on 10/17/2015 by Mary Kate from Virginia, U.S.

                    1 answer

                    • Staff Expert

                      A:

The ability to wash Brunette Color Enhance Glaze out of your hair is dependent on the cleanser or shampoo used; mild cleansers/shampoos (such as sulfate-free shampoos) that don't strip hair color will keep the product on longer.

Also, the condition of your hair contributes to glaze's color adhesion. Hair that has been processed and is more porous will absorb and seal the colorants a little more.

Brunette Color Enhance Glaze is designed to touch up and enhance your color and is not permanent, so there is no long term staining effect. Brunette Color Enhance Glaze can be washed out with a strong hair cleanser/shampoo.

The Brunette Color Enhance Glaze can be used on black hair to provide a shine and to enhance any natural highlights that your hair has!
