To be honest, I don't even use this for blush. You absolutely could, but I find it works better with foundation. I typically am super anti-brush when it comes to foundation, but this is really nice for painting it on and blending it out - no streaks or anything. If you have this try it for a liquid foundation, it works great!

Comments about Real Techniques Bold Metals 300 Tapered Blush Brush:

I own the blush brush from the original line but I really wanted to get this one because it's so beautiful! I convinced myself to buy it because it truly is very different from the original blush brush based on shape of bristles. This is more paddle shaped and much tinier than the original, which is tapered into an egg shape and much bigger. The original one is great for dusting powders lightly on the face. For blush, I feel like this one is great for patting blush on exactly where you want it, and using a light sweeping motion. It's not easy to blend with because of how the brush head is designed but I don't mind because I like its small size for applying blush to more confined and precise location (and blending it out with other brush if needed). Because the bristles are pinched and contained more tightly together, it would be good to pick up the tougher, pressed powders. Be very careful if the blush is super pigmented and loose. I imagine it can also be used for contouring or sweeping highlight on. Overall, it's a fine brush but not necessary To have if you already have another.

                    A:

                    Hi Alexa,

The Tapered Blush Brush is one of our most popular Bold Metals brushes, not only because it's our softest bristle-type out there, but because it is so multi-functional. It works really well as a blush brush, but the smaller head shape and bristle cut make it perfect for highlighting, contouring and other more advanced makeup techniques.

I think this brush would work well with the Glow Kit, and I think you will love the softness and performance!

                    Thanks! :)

                    Hi Alexa,

I wasn't too familiar with the Colourpop line, so I've done some research for you to try to help you figure out what brush would work best. Based on several YouTube reviews and checking out the product type ourselves, our first recommendation would be the Expert Face Brush (Ulta Item #2244502). This seems to be the brush that most of the YouTube vloggers recommend due to its size and density. It also is our best selling Real Techniques brush because it is so multi-functional - you can just about use it for anything.

If you're looking for a bit more of a sheer finish, I would also recommend you take a look at our Stippling Brush (Ulta Item # 2230003). It's not quite as dense as the Expert Face, which means the product will go on lighter. Plus, the cut of the bristles here may lend itself better to the texture of Colourpop.

                    Hope that helps!

                    Hi Lisa,

Awesome question! It is so important to clean your brushes on a regular basis!! And we are thrilled to let you know that we have a Real Techniques brush cleanser available for sale at Ulta that will help you do just that! You can find the cleanser here:

                    http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod13121017

We recommend you clean your brushes every week or two. If you use a lot of makeup on a daily basis, definitely once a week is recommended.

Real Techniques has also developed this very cool brush cleansing palette (available on Ulta.com here: http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod13731029) that has just become available. This has been specifically designed to help with deep cleaning of the bristles, which enables your brushes to perform better (they definitely work better when they are really clean) and last longer.

                    Hope that helps!
