The fresh, flirty colors your lips should be wearing this spring

Snow may be falling and temps may be frigid, but the reality is that spring is just around the corner! So start getting in the mood for a season change by choosing juicy corals, striking fuchsias and bold reds. Even better—these bright, gloom-busting hues are the hottest trend right now.

"I saw so many beautiful bright pink lips on the runway during the Spring 2011 New York Fashion Week," says Stila Pro artist Sarah Lucero. "You want to go for bright, bold and opaque if you want to rock this trend." That said, if you're a little wary about wearing a super-saturated hue to the office, or if you want to ease into the trend, there's no shame in starting with a sheer. Baby steps, my dear.

Trend: Coral
Whether on your lips or on your toes, coral is one of those shades that can be intimidating to wear. But the orangey hue really can look good on anyone—we swear!

Master It: If you have a light skin tone, feel free to swipe generously. But darker- or olive-skinned girls should start with a sheer gloss or a light blot.
