Comments about Beachwaver Co. Beachwaver S1 Curling Iron:

I was looking forward to using this tool, however when I took it home I found the small tab was hard to use especially if you have layered hair. Additionally no matter how much product I use, the curls just won't stay :-(. I'm trying the 3 day bender now, but I'm not impressed either. The only one that has worked for me has been the Kiss Instawave!

I wanted to love this so badly! Unfortunately unless you have lots of time it's not entirely worth it. I can create the same curls with my curling iron in far less time which is nice when I'm getting ready for work. Also- the curls/waves did not last long in my hair and my hair usually holds pretty well. Bummed this didn't work out.

I have a choppy lob/bob haircuts, lots of layers.. My hair is highlighted heavily and is fine but I have a lot of it. Hair doesn't hold curl good on the day it's shampooed, but 2nd or 3rd hair when it has more product in it holds better. I have to curl my hair everyday, curl doesn't look good next day unless I recurl it. Do you think the S1 or S75 would be better for me.

The Beachwaver® S.75 is great for shorter hair above the shoulders. The Beachwaver® S1 works great with hair about shoulder length or longer. The Beachwaver® S Series all have a 5.5" ceramic rod that contains a custom heater which goes from the bottom to the top. This creates a uniform heat distribution so the entire section of hair receives the same temperature. Because of this, you will only need to hold your hair on the iron for 3-4 seconds. Allow the curls to cool completely prior to brushing out or styling. This will ensure your curls will last all day, even on day 1 "clean hair". For color treated and fine hair we recommend starting at a lower heat setting until you find the perfect temperature for your hair type.

                • Q:

I have fairly short, fine, very curly hair which I typically straighten every day, and my Chi ceramic, tourmaline, ionic flat iron makes a huge difference in smoothing my hair and locking out frizz. For the few occasions i do wear my hair curly, I'd like a curling iron with similar qualities to touch up my curls and keep them from frizzing, and I'm wondering if this would be a good choice. I was looking at the Beachwaver Pro, but it seems to be more suited for longer hair.

The Beachwaver® S.75 is recommended for shorter hair above the shoulders and can be used on natural curly hair to help smooth frizz and define the natural curl. The Beachwaver® S1 is great for all hair types, but is recommended for hair shoulder length or longer.

The Beachwaver S1 was designed for all hair types and textures, although is works best on hair that is shoulder length or longer. We also recommend the Beachwaver S.75 for shorter hair. If you have a hard time keeping a curl, a pro tip is to apply mousse and make sure the product is completely dry before curling with the Beachwaver.

How long does this iron take to heat up? I've been using a wand and glove to curl my hair for years and upon first use with this thing, I was not at all impressed. It barely created waves, much less curls. I'm wondering if maybe I didn't let it heat up long enough.

I recently had one of my hands/wrists amputated and was wondering if this is a two handed product. I use to curl my hair daily & always had to use two hands to wrap my hair around the curling iron as I held the iron with my other hand. Will this product work well with using only one hand to operate it?

                    A:

All of the Beachwavers can be used with just one hand! The Beachwaver will create easy, effortless curls with the touch of a button. You no longer need to wrap the hair around the barrel. We suggest keeping the Beachwaver S1 set to the slow speed until you feel more comfortable switching it to the fast speed. We also suggest also using the Darby Clips (Item #: 2300966) to keep the rest of your hair out of the way. This will help you focus on smaller sections of your hair to help create a beautiful beachwaved look!

Hold the Beachwaver S1 upright in front of you with the clamp facing inwards. Take a 1" section of hair and place the ends into the clamp. The amount of ends left out will determine which type of curl you're looking for. Once the hair is secured into the clamp, push the arrow button facing away from your face.
