Comments about Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten Baked Color Correcting Foundation:

Everyone has heard that parabens are bad right?!? So, many cosmetic companies want to continue to use parabens but without paraben names. So, instead, they started using Phenoxyethanol. Which is in this product. Phenoxyethanol has been banned in Japan and the USA Food and Drug Administration has put out a warning on this which reads: Can depress the Central Nervous System. It also includes: may cause vomiting and diarrhea in infants. It has been linked to eczema and severe life threatening allergic reactions. If this item is on your skin (moisturizer even) and you have a nursing infant this could cause severe problems.

Great for the "No makeup makeup" look

    By Erin K.

Comments about Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten Baked Color Correcting Foundation:

I normally focus on skincare over makeup, but I wanted a powder that would even out my skintone and reduce oils for a natural finish. I have combination to oily skin, and THIS powder is the perfect powder to achieve a no makeup makeup look. The fact that it is multicolored and baked makes this powder wear more naturally than most powders. You can also build it up for more coverage if you want to. Personally I like a light coverage (I hate liquid or full coverage foundations) and apply this powder with the tarte foundation brush. It is an absolutely beautiful foundation and I would recommend this to anyone!

Product has really nice coverage.... HOWEVER, if you look at the ingredients it has some really harsh stuff for your face. Very unnatural and not worth the lasting damage it probably causes.

Let me first start off by saying that I'm an African American woman that just got into makeup. I love this foundation. It is a little pricey but I believe you get what you pay for and it does last. I don't wear makeup everyday but, when I do I'm lazy and love that this basically does everything for me. Comments about Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten Baked Color Correcting Foundation:

The product applies beautifully everywhere except large pore areas, and this can be resolved with a good primer. Layers over primers nicely.

Only problem is with choosing the best shade, and I recommend seeing it in person before buying. Even between two shades labeled "Light," there is a bit of variation, so it's less about which shade you get and more about which specific compact you end up with. After going through a bit of the product, it became too dark for me, even though if anything my skin would have been darker due to summer. If there's anything I'd change about this product, it would be to cut out this swirled look so that things can be more uniform.

Hello! Based on the information given to me, it seems like our baked powder in the shade of medium will be perfect for you. We have two different baked powders to choose from. The Balance-n-Brighten, which will offer medium coverage, or Double Take Foundation, which will offer full coverage. I invite you to check out the powders online and read about which one suits your needs best! I have also included a link to our foundation shade finder. Enjoy!

                      A:

All of our products are hypoallergenic and are very safe for sensitive skin. The Balance-n-Brighten contains skin loving ingredients like botanicals white tea extract and centella asiatica. These provide anti-aging benefits and help protect the skin from free radical damage, so you should actually start to see skin improvements when you use this product regularly. If you do somehow get a reaction, you can certainly return it back to ulta.com, however I think you're going to be very happy! It is worth a try because this product is so amazing. Enjoy!

There is no SPF in the balance-n-brighten. If you're looking for some SPF protection, I would recommend starting with our Spackle Under Makeup Primer that has SPF 30. Use this first, and then the foundation. Not only will your skin be prepped and primed for the foundation, you'll receive the protection you're looking for! Please see the link below to the Spackle. I am fair to light with yellow undertones but some redness on my cheeks so I tend to buy foundations with warm or neutral to cover the minor redness, for example I wear MUFE in Y215 and it matches pretty well... I was just curious as so what shade I should try! I had thought Light, but the set I want to purchase only has the option Medium and I am worried that will be dark.. suggestions?

                      A:

This is a foundation that delivers medium-buildable coverage. It usually does a great job at cutting away redness and covering mild rosacea. I would recommend using an under makeup primer (try our Spackle Primer in Spackle Soothing- see link below!) first. This will start to tone down any redness and will hold the foundation on, keeping it looking fresh all day long. Enjoy!

I am sorry, this does not come with a brush. I recommend using a larger, fluffy brush... something like a Kabuki brush. Keep in mind- the more dense the brush, the more pigments it will grab, and the more coverage it will deliver. Enjoy!
