I really wanted to like this but it's just okay. I wanted to try something new, I usually use Bare Minerals, but I regret it. This doesn't cover as well and doesn't stay on as long as Bare Minerals does. The coverage is fairly sheer, doesn't build well. It does feel nice on my face, I will use it as a travel compact to keep in my bag for touch ups. If you have blotchy skin or large pores you will need a really good CC cream under this.

I do like this product. I can't seem to find anything I like as well cheaper. I don't care for the price - I don't think it does all it claims to do. But it does provide decent coverage. I will keep looking for a less expensive replacement.
I would recommend to people who have the money to spend on cosmetics.

I've used Laura Geller's baked foundation for the past two years and love the coverage, love how it stays on, love how it looks.

Here's the only problem: I'm Scandinavian Blonde with naturally fair (not porcelain) skin and use the fair colour, but it really only works on me in the summer when I have a bit of a tan. It's much, MUCH too dark for a truly fair natural skin tone. But for times of the year when I have a bit of natural tan, it's great and I will continue to use it.

                    A:

Currently, the Balance-n-Brighten in fair would probably be too light for you and the Medium may be too dark. In about 3 weeks we are about to launch new shades! We will be launching a shade called "light" which would be perfect for you! If you need something now, I would choose the fair and warm it up with some bronzer. These foundations are so forgiving, so even if its a tad too light to dark, it'll still blend in seamlessly with the rest of your skin tone and you'll never have a line of demarkation under your jawline. You truly can't go wrong with either choice!

This product contains skin loving ingredients like botanicals white tea and centella asiatica, and skin soothing and conditioning jojoba oil. It is hypoallergenic and dermatologist tested, so there is not much in there that will break you out. Even my clients with the most sensitive of skin can use our products and will not break out. I definitely recommend trying it. It is so easy to use and extremely light weight looking and feeling, you will love it. Enjoy!

The fair would work best for you. If you get much more color in the summer time, try the medium, but if you usually stay the same shade all year long, the fair should work perfectly. You can always warm it up by adding a pop of bronzer on the cheeks too. Enjoy!

                • Q:

I am looking for a beach-friendly summer makeup option...I am naturally quite fair with some freckling. My usual foundation (which I LOVE for long wear and coverage) is Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra in 110 Ivoire (c)...but in the summer I do get some more color in my face. I like to minimize the freckles with spf, so although I DO get more neutral tones, I'm still pretty cool.
I'm looking to use this over a BB or tinted moisturizer/sunscreen.
Will the porcelain be too pasty white in the summer (as is the 110 Ivoire)? The Teint Idole 140 Ivoire (N) tends to be a bit yellow....as does Estée Lauder's Double Wear Light in 2.0.
Hoping to get some comparison. Thanks!

Yes! It sounds like the porcelain will be too light for you; especially if you get a little color in the summer. I would definitely recommend tha fair. I absolutely love pairing Balance-n-Brighten with a BB cream or tinted moisturizer- so you're going to love this combination! But go with the fair. Even though you're cooler, the fair contains up to 6 different shades so they work for all undertones. Enjoy!

Absolutely! I always recommend using your face lotion every day under your foundation. It will not make it look cakey or powdery. Another item that I recommend is an under makeup primer, such as Laura Geller Spackle. This will hold your makeup on and keep it looking fresh all day long, as well as creating a silky smooth surface so makeup will glide on smooth and easy. Spackle goes on after moisturizer and before the balance-n-brighten. Enjoy!

Because this is a baked powder (it starts off as a cream and is baked on a terracotta tile), it is a powder that absolutely will not settle into lines! The terracotta also helps it retain moisture, so it's a powder that will actually add some hydration. Perfect for any age! Enjoy!

                    A:

This is the most fool proof foundation I have ever used- you will love it! The coverage is medium, however it is buildable so you can apply more layers to reach the coverage you desire. I recommend using a large fluffy brush, something like a kabuki brush, dip into the compact and swirl onto the skin. If you're not sure what shade you are, Medium is a great place to start. If you're lighter, choose fair. Because it has multi-pigmented swirls on color that will blend in seamlessly in with your skin tone, so it'll be very easy to color match. This foundation seems like it'll be perfect for you. Enjoy!

I have extremely fair skin with no yellow undertones. Many foundations look too warm or yellowish on me. How might the porcelain work for me? Also, my age is 47 and my skin can look dry with powder foundation, so I am wondering if it will work for mature skin. Thanks.

                    A:

The porcelain has definitely more of a cooler undertone, with more pinks and beiges. It is perfect for skintones in the range of Nicole Kidman. Since you mentioned you're extremely fair, the porcelain sounds like it'll be great for you. Our balance-n-brighten has more yellow swirled around, so I am afraid it might be a bit too warm for you. Try the porcelain! And don't worry about your age or skin type... because this is a baked powder (it starts it's life as a cream), its a powder that looks extremely weightless and natural and it won't dry out the skin or settle into lines! You will love it. Enjoy!
