Comments about Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten Baked Color Correcting Foundation:

Bought this on sale and I love it! I would consider this medium to light coverage. I have some pretty red cheeks and it covers most of the redness but not quite. Other than that, it makes my skin look a lot smoother

Comments about Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten Baked Color Correcting Foundation:

I bought this during the 21 days of beauty for 50% off. I figured for the price it was worth trying out and I am super happy that I did because I am absolutely in love!
It doesn't look like I am wearing make at all and it gives me a natural glow. Absolutely love it!!!
I do tend to pick at my skin so I have to wear a concealer underneath the powder (only the trouble areas) and then I sweep the powder over my entire face- you can't even tell where I used the concealer.
I do have to touch it up midday, however, it actually stays on longer than other full coverage face powders I have used. With Bare Minerals and IT Cosmetic powders I tend to have to retouch a couple times throughout the day and they left my skin looking cakey.
Can't express how much I love this product- will gladly pay full price for it!

We now offer 9 shades of the Balance-n-Brighten on ulta.com! Based on the Mac nc 20, because it is on the lighter end of the spectrum and contains a lot of warmth, the Balance-n-Brighten in the shade Light would probably work best for you. That should not go on pink at all. Enjoy!

                  A:

Yes! Because this product starts its life as a cream and is baked into a powder, it is not drying at all like some conventional powders can be. It is also baked on a terra-cotta tile which helps the product retain moisture... so you may find that this will actually keep the skin nice and hydrated! I would recommend pairing it with our famous Spackle Under Makeup Primer. This will hold the makeup on and it will keep it looking fresh all day long. We now make a hydrating primer which will add extra hydration to the skin as well as prime. Check it out! http://www.ulta.com/spackle-hydrating-under-make-up-primer?productId=xlsImpprod11911115

              • Q:

Hello. I have fair to light skin, and while my face has a lot of pink in it, I use products aimed at neutral undertones to combat the pinkness and match my neck area. I used to have to buy MAC foundations in both NW15 and NC15 and mix them. I also tend to have to mix 2 different shades regardless of the brand I use because I fall mid-spectrum (when using liquid...powder foundations are a little more forgiving but sometimes I do still have to combine powder shades to get the right undertone). So my question is - what shade might work best for me, either fair or light? I would go to a store but I live far away from an Ulta!

                  A:

Based on the current foundations that you use, I think the Balance-n-Brighten in fair would be perfect for you. It actually contains multi-pigmented swirls of color, and the fair has a great amount of warm and neutral shades. This product is extremely forgiving and I do not think you will have to mix considering it has all of the different swirls. You can even start your makeup routine with our Spackle Under Makeup Primer in "Even Tone". This will neutralize the skin tone, so the foundation will stay true to it's color. A:

Most of the time, these shades are so forgiving that you could wear up to three different shades and all of them will work. However if this truly isn't working, I would recommend either going up a shade (switching from fair to light). The light has a ton of warmth in it which is what I usually add to a color that looks muddy. Another option is keeping your fair, and adding a warm blush or bronzer to your cheeks, forehead, and jawline. This will also take away the muddiness.

I have seen this product look muddy if you wet it, so make sure that you are always using it dry! Enjoy!

I can't get to an ulta to try out the different shades, but would really like to purchase online. I'm torn between porcelain and fair. I'm fair with freckles and redness, can't tan at all. I wear urban decay naked and allnighter in 0.5 ( the allnighter is just a touch pale on me at first but darkens after a little while) philosophy miracle worker foundation in 3 (fair, the lightest shade, a perfect match for me), cover fx custom color drops in N10, and the urban decay naked powder foundation in fair cool. Which color would be better for me to try based off of my current foundations?

Definitely the porcelain. It sounds like the fair could be a bit yellow for you. Go with the porcelain, and you can always add a warm blush or a bronzer to your cheeks, forehead, and jawline for more color if needed. Enjoy!
