Comments about Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten Baked Color Correcting Foundation:

I no longer have the even coloring I had when I was younger. Nice that the product has a variation in lighter and darker which helps hide the sun damage that has taken away my even skin tone.

Comments about Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten Baked Color Correcting Foundation:

I really like Laura Geller's foundations. They work for me really well & my skin is very sensitive but the Balance/Brighten works great. Covers my imperfections & doesn't settle into my fine lines but you don't need to put a lot of this foundation on your brush because a small amount covers very well. I add little @ a time if I need too but I start out with light coverage then decide if I need more or not. I've been using this product for over 5 yrs. now & I'm very happy with the results.

This happened to me once when I wet my brush and then used this product. I took a raiser and gently scraped the top later off and it was as good as new. I recommend using a small raise blade that you can get from the hardware store. Be very careful and scrape lightly! This should work :)

I first got matched for Fair at one of your Ulta locations. It matched perfectly. I noticed now that I am using the foundation more and going deeper into the palette, fair seems to be too dark for me. Should I switch to porcelain? Or is there a tip you can give me?

                      A:

Let's talk about undertones. Fair has much more yellow swirled into it and porcelain has much more pink. If you can see more pink in your skin (if you're cooler), porcelain might be a good idea. If you see more yellow/gold (if you're warmer), I would stick with fair. No matter what, always blend the foundation down below your jawline on to your neck. This will prevent any line of demarkation and even if its a tad too dark, it will still look very natural. Hope this helps!

                      A:

Depending on the coverage you desire, I recommend using a large, fluffy kabuki brush. If you would like a light dusting of coverage, use a brush that is very fluffy and not too dense. If you want fuller coverage, use a brush that is very dense. A dense brush will contain more bristles and will deposit more pigmentation onto the skin. Also, Balance-n-Brighten can be used on it's own, or as a finishing powder on top of your favorite liquid. It is so versatile! Enjoy!

                  • Q:

I purchased a medium Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten years ago which was a great match for my skin tone. I recently purchased the medium shade again, but it comes across as more yellowish than it used to. Should I have gotten the other medium (golden)? I'm not tan, so I'm not sure what's the best choice.

                      A:

I would definitely recommend trying the Golden Medium in this product. Because the Balance-n-Brighten contains up to 7 different pigments, no two compacts are ever the same. The Medium compact that you purchased may have had more yellow in it than your previous ones. The Golden Medium is still on the medium side (not quite tan) and does not contain as many prominent swirls of color like the others do. I think you will be very happy with this choice! Enjoy!

                  • Q:

I have very oily skin and I cant wear liquid foundation. The things I look for in foundation is ability to build coverage, redness control and long lasting wear-ability. Makeup staying on my face is big problem because of how oily it is. The best I've found so far is Revlon 24hr color stay in 110 Ivory but its liquid and breaks my skin out. My cosmetologist friend recommended LG baked makeup for me. Would the balance-n-brighten be the best product for me to try? Also what shade would be recommended? I usually purchase the lightest shade possible but the 110 Revlon washes me out a bit. I have fair/reddish hair, green eyes and freckles. Thank you.

Balance and Brighten sounds like it will be perfect for you! It starts its life as a cream and is then baked on terra-cotta tile into a powder. So with this product, you're getting the best of both worlds. This will give amazing medium-buildable coverage and a light weight creamy feel, yet it's in a powder form which is perfect tor oily skin. I would recommend trying the Fair. It is not the lightest shade in our spectrum, however it sounds like it'll be light enough for you without washing you out. Please see the shade finding chart below to help you choose:
                      http://www.ulta.com/shade-finders/laura-geller-foundation-finder/?source=native

If you desire more coverage, you can try our full coverage baked powder called Double Take. This is made the same way, however it is a true full coverage foundation that can be worn wet or dry. Enjoy!

If you have more warm undertones, the shade light would be perfect for you. If you're more cool to neutral, try the fair. Because this product is made up of multi-pigmented swirls of color, each shade is self-adjusting and extremely forgiving. It'll never leave a line of demarcation under your jawline and you will be able to wear the same shade from season to season. Enjoy!
