Manic Mixer Pastel-izer
1. SHAMPOO Wash the hair thoroughly using a deep cleansing shampoo. Rinse completely to remove all residues. There is no need to condition, Manic Panic Hair Color acts as a filler and will hydrate the hair as it processes. Blow dry completely.

2. PROTECT Wear protective coloring gloves for application. Apply petroleum jelly around the client¿s hair line and ears to prevent color staining.

3. APPLY DYE TO DRY HAIR Empty your desired amount of dye into a plastic bowl. With the aid of a tint brush or a gloved hand, apply color beginning from ¿ inch away from the scalp (to prevent staining) to the ends of the hair. Be sure to apply evenly to the hair strands.

4. COMB THROUGH HAIR UNTIL IT BECOMES FROTHY This indicates that it has been thoroughly distributed.

5. PROCESS Leave the color on hair for at least 30 minutes. Results vary from person-to-person, which is why a test strip is always recommended prior to the full dying process. For resistant hair, it is advised to place a plastic cap on the hair, and leave on for 45 minutes or longer. Applying heat from a blow dryer for 5-10 minutes will intensify color and help to open the cuticle of the hair shaft. This will allow Manic Panic hair color to absorb better and last longer.

6. RINSE Thoroughly rinse the hair in cool water away from face until the water runs clear. Condition if needed.Avoid Eye Contact, Always wear protective gloves. Do not use to dye eyelashes or eyebrows. May temporarily stain skin. May Stain Blonde or porous hair. May permanently stain clothes and other materials. Do not apply if the scalp is damaged or sensitive. Can cause Allergic Reaction. Always do a preliminary patch and strand test.

Precautions: Avoid Eye Contact, Always wear protective gloves. Do not use to dye eyelashes or eyebrows. May temporarily stain skin. May Stain Blonde or porous hair. Pretty, but fades fast.

Comments about Manic Panic Amplified Semi-Permanent Hair Color:

You don't need to lighten your hair to a super light blonde for this to take, however it fades so quickly. I like the way this color fades, but it's annoying that it fades so drastically with every wash. I even bought the 40 wash kind and I'm still touching up every 3 weeks.

In trying to find the perfect blue I tried the Rock a Billy blue... I left it on for over 3 hours to hopefully get a good set. It started fading before the first wash and was completely gone with the second.

Comments about Manic Panic Amplified Semi-Permanent Hair Color:

I will leave this sit in my hair all day long for 8 or more hours to brighten up my reds. It's gentle enough to do so and makes my soft. I will even mix it with my permanent dye that I use to make my own color! It's pretty awesome! The only thing is you have to get patient and careful to not get it all over the place (on your ears ad such) Because you will be stuck with it for about a day or so after but honestly my hair covers all of that and it's totally worth it so I don't mind. I get alot of compliments and people are always asking me how I get my hair to stay red an what dye color do I use. My hair dresser used to do my color but now I do it to save money and he says I do great with it and I know what I'm doing. I also wash my hair in cold water! that is a huge thing with reds!

The color was great, but didn't last long at all - and I had even washed my hair less often after using it

Comments about Manic Panic Amplified Semi-Permanent Hair Color:

First off, I think it's great that Ulta finally carries my favorite brand of dye! However, y'all be overcharging. I can get this for $5 less at Sally's.

The colors of this dye are very vibrant and if you want to add some color to your hair, this a good product. I've used every color available on this site from this specific brand. The blues and purples, will really only appear on bleached/pre-lightened hair. All of the red dyes (including Hot Hot Pink) should be fine over medium brown hair. Vampire Red will wash out orange, while Hot Hot Pink fades mre into a red. Cotton Candy Pink sort of washes out a bit faster than I liked, so avoid washing too often with that one. These are really gentle, vegetable based dyes. Except Virgin Snow, that's more of a toner but is fairly harmless.

Comments about Manic Panic Amplified Semi-Permanent Hair Color:

If you enjoy wild colors, this is a great brand. I have used many, many different kinds of dyes like this, and this is one of my favorites. The colors are bold, they hold reasonably well for a semi-permanent. Blues/aqua fade the fastest, followed by reds. Ironically, the purple holds very well and fades out nicely without going pink.

Comments about Manic Panic Amplified Semi-Permanent Hair Color:

Every few weeks I get my hair colored with a base burgundy color, with Pravana vivid red highlights. Well, we all know how hard it is to maintain that "fresh from the salon" look with red hair even with minimal washing and color-safe products. By week 3, my hair became more brown with hints of red throughout (the burgundy holding strong..lol). I wanted to refresh the bold vivid highlights and found Manic Panic Vampire Red. I figured why not? It's semi-permanent like the Pravana, so if I don't like it, it will wash out eventually. No long-term commitment. The directions suggest to highlight to get the true effect. I already had the highlights from my appointment a few weeks prior, so I could skip that part. I mixed about a 3/4 cup of the color with 1/4 of my Joico Red conditioner and let it sit for about 15-20 minutes under a shower cap. I have short-ish fine hair, so you may need more or less based on your hair and desired results. I love the results - it looks like I just came from the salon and I am suprised by how even the color is! It was a little messy, but not anything tragic or anything I've been used to in the past when I've colored at home. I would suggest this over any box color any day, and if you are on a budget or can't get to the salon to have it professionally done! Love this product!
