Comments about SheaMoisture African Black Soap Problem Skin Facial Mask:

I have oily skin and this works fine however it definitely dries my skin out. It also stings when I put it on. I would not recommend for people with normal or dry skin I think it would be too drying.

    Skin is brighter & soft

    By mthella

Comments about SheaMoisture African Black Soap Problem Skin Facial Mask:

I bought this in the trial size packet and have gotten 2 uses out of it so far. I leave it on for about 20 minutes (keep in mind this mask does not dry or harden). I notice my skin appears brighter and is very soft after rinsing. Many people are put off by the smell, but I actually really like it. I believe it is frankincense & myrrh.
I have already picked up another packet of this mask and imagine I will buy this full size soon. Try it!

I've been searching for a gentle, effective, cruelty-free mask I could use a few times a week to help me stop picking at blemishes and actually help without drying or taking forever. I put on a few minutes before getting in the shower & rinse a few minutes in. I felt a little tingling after about 5 minutes on the 4th use but still no irritation.

I needed a new mask and I have heard good things about this one so I tried it. It felt great going on and tingled a little bit while it dried. My face looked calmer and felt incredible after I removed the mask. I had a couple blemishes coming and it appears to have minimized their appearance. I will try the mask again in a few days to see what happens. (The label says to use it 1-2 times a week). It also smells nice. So far so good.

What is the difference between this and the African Black Soap Clarifying Mask?

              • Brand Expert

                A:

The problem skin mask is a clay formula while the newer one is mud. The mud is a heavier formula and dries while the problem skin mask stays moist.

We always suggest performing a patch test before use of a new product. However, it seems like you may have an allergic reaction to an ingredient or so in this product. We suggest consulting your dermatologist to get checked for any allergies.

For best results, this would be recommended. However, you can also use it on pat-dried skin after cleansing with other products too. Smooth the product on with your finger tips, leave on for 5 to 10 minutes. Then, rinse off with clean, warm water and pat dry skin. The suggested frequency of use is once or twice per week after cleansing.

Our African Black Soap Products work well to relief many troubled skin concerns such as whiteheads and oily skin, which may cause further complications. As for dark spots, we advise using the Coconut & Hibiscus Spot Correcting Moisturizer and/or the Coconut & Hibiscus Even Skin Tone Crème.
