Comments about SheaMoisture African Black Soap Problem Skin Facial Mask:

I have only used this product twice so far but I'm already pretty sold. It goes on smooth, rinses off easily, and leaves my skin feeling both clean and hydrated. Its fairly priced and has better ingredients than a lot of higher priced products. The only down side for some might be the smell, the best comparison is that it smells very much like play-doh. Its a little odd for a facial product but I don't so much mind it if the product works. Its not a bad smell, just.. odd. Other than the scent everything about this product is great so far. I was in the middle of a pretty nasty break out when I started using it and even after one use the gunk in my pores strted making its way to the surface. More after use number two. Cleared up the worst of it in just a few days. I will continue using it around twice a week as suggested and hope to see it continue to work its magic.

Comments about SheaMoisture African Black Soap Problem Skin Facial Mask:

I LOVE this mask. And the other commentators are right; only use this on your problem areas. Only do a full-face if you have full-face acne. I use this on my acne-prone areas and then use a clay mask on all of my other areas. I see a difference the next morning.

Ive been using it twice a week for two weeks and its calmed my hormonal breakouts. My biggest concern with face products is my sensitive skin or products irritating it. This mask has mostly natural ingredients so I havent found it irritating or too strong at all. I will continue to use this 2-3 times a week.

I only use this mask once per week and only apply it to the areas where I typically see or currently have breakouts.
The smell might be a turn off for some people. Works great to clear up my skin and even my skin tone.

What is the difference between this and the African Black Soap Clarifying Mask?
            Asked on 11/30/2016 by Gina

            1 answer

            • Brand Expert

              A:

The problem skin mask is a clay formula while the newer one is mud. The mud is a heavier formula and dries while the problem skin mask stays moist.

We always suggest performing a patch test before use of a new product. However, it seems like you may have an allergic reaction to an ingredient or so in this product. We suggest consulting your dermatologist to get checked for any allergies.

For best results, this would be recommended. However, you can also use it on pat-dried skin after cleansing with other products too. Smooth the product on with your finger tips, leave on for 5 to 10 minutes. Then, rinse off with clean, warm water and pat dry skin. The suggested frequency of use is once or twice per week after cleansing.
