Comments about SheaMoisture African Black Soap Dandruff Control Shampoo:

I've never had such an issue with a shampoo before. It just doesn't really rinse out. It leaves my roots feeling like they are super greasy and have baby powder in them, so kinda gross feeling. In all my years I have never had a problem with ANY product, shampoo or conditioner, not fully rinsing out in the shower. It is also not effective for me but that may just be because I have bad dandruff and not that many products help anyway.

Comments about SheaMoisture African Black Soap Dandruff Control Shampoo:

I have scalp acne and dandruff and I bought this because I've been experimenting with salicylic acid shampoos to combat that. The lather is fine and the scent is fine, but it leaves my hair really oily feeling at the roots, and I'm having just as many scalp issues as I do with a traditional shampoo. It is moisturizing enough that I don't have to use a conditioner, though, so this would be good for someone with drier hair and scalp than I have.

Comments about SheaMoisture African Black Soap Dandruff Control Shampoo:

I had been using Head and Shoulders for awhile and decided I wanted to try something more natural, so I opted for this shampoo. I loved the scent and the company's ideals and it was on sale, so it seemed like the stars had aligned for me and this hair care set, right? So wrong. I used it once and was immediately off put by how ineffective the lather was-- it was like rubbing caramel (which is one of the ingredients I might add) into my hair. It took me at least twice as much product to cover my scalp. Further the conditioner is thin and watery, meaning I had to use more of that too. I went back to my regular shampoo--until it ran out, that is, and then I decided to give this another chance. I went out of my way to make it work but after a week of using this stuff my scalp is in the worst condition it's ever been in: itchy and flaky, and my hair feels so weighted down. I am really disappointed and will not be repurchasing this or any other Shea Moisture haircare products.

Comments about SheaMoisture African Black Soap Dandruff Control Shampoo:

Similar to the conditioner, I felt that I had to use a lot of this product in order to get the desired effect. I used twice as much shampoo as usual to get a lather going. I did think that it was effective in keeping my dandruff under control but I personally would rather go back to using HS. I also didn't enjoy the smell too much (shea or cocoa butter/creamy), it doesn't smell terrible, just not what I like shampoo to smell like.

Comments about SheaMoisture African Black Soap Dandruff Control Shampoo:

My 15 year old son had horrible cradle cap as an infant and then it just stayed with him and transitioned into a constant state of seborrheic dermatitis. This, no joke, has been a daily battle for this kid! He had it horrendously bad. I'm talking thick layers of yellow scalp buildup, itching so bad he would scratch until it would bleed, tons of dandruff and flakes and his hair was starting to fall out. His hair felt dry but looked greasy all the time. We have spent hundreds of dollars on doctor's visits, dermatologists, prescription medicine and shampoo, over the counter shampoo and treatments and natural and homemade concoctions. We've bought scalp remedies from high end salons and online stores. We were in a state of desperation and giving up, thinking he was just going to have to deal with this condition. This shampoo and conditioner (along with a seaweed shampoo and conditioner bought online) has FINALLY got his condition under control. He has a VERY few flakes once in a while, but honestly that's the extent of it. His scalp is healthy and pink, his hair is shiny and healthy looking with his curls back from when he was a baby. You have no idea how excited and relieved we were that we finally found something that worked. It sounds crazy but I was very emotional about it. He's at an age where he's very self conscious about how he looks and it bothered him a lot. I don't know that anyone else will have the same results, but I can tell you that for us, it has been a God send. If anyone else has the same issues, give it a try. I hope it works for you the same as it has for us!!
