Comments about Mario Badescu Acne Starter Kit:

I was hoping this product would reduce some troubling acne I get around my "special time of the month". The cleanser was absolutely ineffective!! I doubt it had any acne-fighting chemicals. Overall, the product could help people with mild acne but Proactiv has been working well for me.

I am 23 years old and STRUGGLE with acne. I'm not talking a black head here or there, or even a break out around that time of the month. I am talking cystic, irritated, problematic skin. i picked this kit up on a whim thinking oh why not? ive tried everything else worse case it wont work and ill be in the same spot.
i have been using these products two months, two kits in and i must say im very happy with it. my skin is not perfect but definitely improved all thanks to these little gems. to anyone struggling like me i strongly urge you to give this a try and do not underestimate the power of spot treatment, using the mask once a week, and not picking!! :))

I have very sensitive and acne prone skin. My acne has improved a lot from using Mario Badescu'd oil free moisturizer with other products. I am allergic to most acne fighting products. (Ones with benzoyl peroxide and other harsh chemicals). Would this product be sensitive enough for my skin? Or would you recommend another kit/product?

I am in my 20's and I have very Oily skin, with blackheads and large visible pores, I also get dry patches around my chin and nose often after washing my face. From the reviews I can't tell if I should use the Regime kit for combo/Oily skin or the Acne starter kit. What are the differences?

                    A:

Our Acne Starter Kit is a great product to establish a daily skin care regimen that is geared towards oily, acne prone skin. Sticking to a skin care regimen that is best suited for your skin is the first step. We offer a Silver Powder which is our go-to product to help with stubborn blackheads. http://www.ulta.com/silver-powder?productId=xlsImpprod6200683
Those under the skin whiteheads may actually be milia. You can incorporate a gently exfoliating cleanser - such as our Glycolic Foaming Cleanser - into your skin care routine to help remove them. Although, some milia may need to be removed by a dermatologist. http://www.ulta.com/glycolic-foaming-cleanser?productId=xlsImpprod6200753

My acne has been really bad this past year, and just recently after looking more into the Mario Badescu products I now realize a majority of my acne right now is cystic acne. I was wondering whether you would suggest tackling my acne by purchasing this acne kit, or if i should buy the buffering lotion and see how it works out first?

                    A:

To combat your acne you should put yourself on the proper skin care regimen - our Acne Starter Kit is a great place to start. In addition to a proper skin care regimen, you should also be spot treating those deep bumps with our Buffering Lotion.

                    A:

Choosing a skin care regimen that focuses on addressing oily, acne prone skin is essential in combating adult acne. Our Acne Starter Kit is the perfect option. Often hormonal acne includes those deep under-the-surface bumps that appear around the jawline. We offer a product specifically designed to target this issue- Buffering Lotion (Item #: 2209805).

                    A:

Yes - you should CLEANSE (Acne Facial Cleanser), TONE (Special Cucumber Lotion), MOISTURIZE (Oil Free Moisturizer SPF 17), and TREAT. You can use the Drying Mask 2-3 times a week and the Drying Cream nightly to address areas of concern.

Drying Mask: Apply a thin layer on clean skin avoiding eye area. Wait 20 minutes and rinse with tepid water. May be used 2-3 times a week all over face or on problem areas only including back and chest.

You can also incorporate our Glycolic Foaming Cleanser (Item #: 2209926) into your regimen 2-3 times a week.Once your acne is under control and you are not experiencing any active breakouts, you can begin to incorporate more products that will address the hyper pigmentation - specifically our Whitening Mask (Item #: 2209901) and Vitamin C Serum (Item #: 2209815).
