Read the product description before buying

By Mist

Comments about Real Techniques 4 Miracle Blotting Cushions:

I'm upset necause people are giving this bad reviews because they bpught it thinking it was to apply makeup, not absorb oil. Read before you buy and give something a bad review.

Love the product, removes shine and doesn't smear or remove makeup. Just as good as the Beauty Blender Blotterazzi at half the price. I just wish the sponge was larger.

Comments about Real Techniques 4 Miracle Blotting Cushions:

The first time I used this blotting cushion I noticed it puts my makeup on nice and evenly. Its soft and does the job. But you cant get it wet to wash off old foundation. You're basically applying old makeup that is left on the cushion. Not good if you break out easily and your pores get clogged. Not buying again.

Comments about Real Techniques 4 Miracle Blotting Cushions:

I saw a lot of comments from people trying to use the sponges as regular beauty sponges for liquid cushion or cream products. Granted the name says these are blotting sponges so they should only be used to block away oil from the face or put a little bit of powder in your oily areas, but I see where the confusion comes in do to the poor advertising and description of use with this product. A lot of people have been returning them because they do not perform like the regular Real Techniques sponge however these should not be used wet nor should they be used with any product. I have oily skin and these are great for everyday use especially in the summertime when I want to not feel so greasy. I just use one to absorb oil from my T-Zone and my under eye and I use another to lightly tap some translucent powder onto my T-Zone and then spray with my Mario badescu rosewater spray or my NYX matte setting spray whichever I have on hand. These are also great for reapplying my sunscreen buy dotting a little bit on the sponge and lightly applying it to my face before going outside.

Comments about Real Techniques 4 Miracle Blotting Cushions:

I think that this was intended to be the clap back for the MakeUpDrop product (the silicon blender) but honestly all it seems to do is absorb all your makeup and push what's left around. Terrible for blending, and not nice on sensitive skin. Generally, I highly recommend this brand, but I'm pretty disappointed in this one.

                A:

                Hi Pam,

Great question! The best way to clean these is to use either baby shampoo or a cleanser specifically for brushes/sponges. We have an amazing Brush Shampoo from our sister brand, EcoTools, that is amazing. I love it because it's made with gentler ingredients that a lot of brush cleansers out there. Plus, it smells GREAT!

You can find that here: http://www.ulta.com/makeup-brush-cleansing-shampoo?productId=xlsImpprod13501085&sku=2297645&_requestid=21359453

Depending on how often you use the blotting cushions, I would recommend washing with the shampoo every two weeks. Rub gently and rinse with warm water till the washing liquid runs clean. Make sure you squeeze all excess water out and leave to dry in a cool, dry place. (Do not store in a case or drawer as air can't get to the cushions).

                Thanks!

                Hi Carly,

At this time, the blotters do not come with a protective case. But that's a great question and I will take that back to our team!

                Thanks!
