Comments about Hot Tools 3/4" Gold Brush Iron:

This sucked honestly, it left my hair feeling very frizzy and poofed out. I looked like an ugly poodle. Do not buy this if you have thick hair, I brushed mine out thoroughly and it still snagged and was quite painful sometimes. I chalked that up to a learning curve but it seemed to do it no matter how tangle free my hair was and how carefully I wrapped it.

    • Bristles need replacing too often

    Best Uses

Comments about Hot Tools 3/4" Gold Brush Iron:

I would love this curling iron much more if the bristles, although replaceable didn't break down from the heat and fall out in chunks over time. I wrote the manufacturer and received one free set of replacement bristles, but was told in the future I have to pay to get them replaced. Over the life of the curling iron I could spend and extra $40 or more to keep the bristles intact. That's too much to maintain an already expensive tool. I have a cheap curling iron for travel and it will never need it's bristles replaced because they are made of something much better than the cheap plastic of this iron.

This is the most effective curler I have found in many years. Minimal tangles with great results for my mid-length fine hair. Quite durable with long cord and a bend at base so it lays on counter without falling off. Just have to be careful to avoid touching tube at base.

Hello, I would like to know is the iron plastic bristles they look like in the picture brush like bristles. I have read the othe other questions and you say that it comes with another set of bristles. Why is that? Are the larger size like 1" and what do you do to get them off. I have the old instyler that is purple and works great no problem. I just want something defferent. I have a little past my shoulder hair will this work go on my hair? Thank you

                        A:

Hello. Yes, they are plastic bristles. The product comes with another set of bristles in case they brake or get worn out. You rotate the cool tip and align with indention on cool tip. Then you pull bristles out to replace with new bristles. Once bristles have been replaced you turn cool tip and lock in place. We don't have a 1" like this one, but do have a 1" with silicone bristles. The product # is 1146, Silicone Brush Styler- 1" Hot Brush Styler. I would recommend a 1" or larger for hair past your shoulder.
