I wanted a lower cost flat iron. I wasn't willing to pay $70-100, and this works great for my needs. I like the digital readout, because on my former iron, the wheel control temp, I just couldn't see. This one is light weight, and works well on my thin, fine hair.

I bought this straightener 2 years ago to wake up one morning and it just stopped working. I was really bummed because I take care of my things. I ran out and bought another for less than $60. It's still a better and cheaper straightener than what you could purchase at one of those box stores in blue.

Thick shoulder length wavy hair_ to straighten, what temperature should this be set at and do I run it down the hair section slowly or quickly? Color treated and prone to frizziness even with products.

                        A:

Start with a mid level temperature and increase from there if necessary. You want to pass it through your hair at a medium speed. If you go to fast your not giving your hair enough time to straighten and if you go to slow you run the risk of burning your hair. I also recommend you discuss it with your stylist they are always helpful.

Which flat iron is gentler to hair? The ceramic plates ti tourmaline on this flatiron or item 2295779 with the titanium plates? I have slightly course, thick somewhat wavy hair.

                        A:

Ceramic is gentler to hair than titanium, so we recommend opting for this model if that is a concern, especially if you have hair that is prone to damage or that has been over-processed. We also always recommend using a heat protectant styling product in your hair prior to heat styling to help prevent thermal damage!

For effective styling of thick and/or coarse hair, we recommend adjusting to a higher temperature setting. Its ceramic tourmaline plates produces far-infrared heat which is gentle to hair and help infuse hair with moisture and shine.
